Relativity: About

Relativity was born out of a hole we spotted in the tools provided by other platforms. They fail to answer the most important question for long-term investment success — who are you investing in? Ultimately, the success or failure of any investment over the long-term depends on the quality of the management team and the culture they create. As one of the most thoughtful investors we know — Ian Cassel — likes to say, "a business always rises and falls to the quality level of management's decision making."
We like to say:
People drive cultures → Cultures drive companies → Companies drive stocks
We are building differentiated tools to help investors make their best long-term investment decisions. The desire to build Relativity simply comes from following our own curiosities and the desire to enhance our own returns.
Our focus on people driving our investing philosophy is not solely due to the impact on long-term stock performance. It is also for our own psychological benefit. We are ardent believers in Thomas Phelps' stance that "fortunes are made by buying right and holding on." The conviction to do so is nearly impossible without a belief in the people you are ultimately investing in. In a world increasingly focused on short-term results, time arbitrage becomes ever more powerful.
We are inspired by the greatest investors and leaders to have ever played the game, and we urge you to read about and listen to what they have to say in our library. Our goal at Relativity is to take the lessons from these incredible investors and operators and infuse our culture with those that ring most true to our values.
